Horror novel by Rachel Yoder, published 2021

    Wickedly Original

These days I often wonder if there any more entirely original ideas left in the world...Rachel Yoder's Nightbitch answers my question with a resounding yes! Wildly original, Yoder sinks her teeth into society's conceptions of what it is to be both a woman and a mother.

Quotes such as the following, “How many generations of women had delayed their greatness only to have time extinguish it completely? How many women had run out of time while the men didn’t know what to do with theirs? And what a mean trick to call such things holy or selfless. How evil to praise women for giving up each and every dream," touched on such a strong inner truth that I found myself nodding along and yelling yes out loud in agreement.

    5 out of 5 Stars

Sardonic, poignant and yet still somehow utterly relatable, this book is absolutely one of my favorites of 2021. I can't wait to see what this new, bizarre, voice comes up with next.
